Before beginning April activities, we decided to organise online twinchat program with the students. In this way students would know each other better and they will practice both in Twinspace and writing in English. This was the schedule.

ESMEET
|
We have chat rules absolutely... Here is our chat rules.
*Chat groups meet at the given dates and times. Each teacher joins the
chat with 3 students. During the chat, they are supposed to do two tasks:
1.Talk about their cities’ cultural features so that the other group can
learn about them.
2.Write lines for the given letters of the acrostic poem “THIS PROJECT
IS WHERE CULTURES MEET”.
3.At the end of the chat time, first, the groups take the screenshot of
the chat or download it on their computers. Then share them on Pages. (Online
Meetings→Chatroom)
4.With the “discussion” task, we can prepare a digital board (Jamboard)
with the title “What have we learnt about (the city name)?”
5.With the “acrostic poem” task, we can prepare videos of students’
bitmojis using Chatterpix.
My students came together with Kocaeli group. Here are some samples about our Twinchat:
As you see from the instructions. Our students wrote an acrostic poem. :) They created online.... ! Unbelievable....!!!!
Our group was responsible for "SWHERE" letters for an acrostic poem. And here is our poem. My students with Kocaeli team wrote it...
S-o happy with cultural differences
W-herever you go it’s fascinating
H-ow about traveling, visiting and learning
E-verything you see exciting (Eager to see all of it
R-emember our history, our past
E-asy way to learn the world (Eternal happiness, Extra cool, extra exciting)
We even have alternatives... :) They were so creative. <3
Unfortunaltely every beginning has an end. We finished our chat...
Activity 1 Presenting Traditional Clothes
First of all we came together with the teachers to plan this activity. Our students will make the presentation on 29th of April at 21.30.
They are free for presentation tool. There will be 3 students for this
acitivity. (Please pay attention not to choose same students for every
activity.) They will prepare presentation together. Only one student or 2
students can present their presentation. It’s up to them. Every school has 3 minutes for presentation.
Here is our webinar as teachers. We came together every week. We also worked a lot as teachers :)
My students Mikail and Hatice were responsible for this activity. They presented their presentations about their traditional clothes to the teachers and their peers on webinar. My students are excited. We even made a demo webinar before the real one :) But they were brilliant!. They had a chance to learn the clothes of other cities and had an experience about how to make a presentation. They used Jamboard for this. It was enjoyable.
Our demo presentation :)
Here is their real presentation. There were 10 teachers and many students from ten schools. This was their first English presentation. So it's normal for them to be excited.
But my students were cool. They completed their presentation successfully. If you want to watch my students please click the below link.

Actually This activity was cool and different... After my students present about traditional clothes of Konya in a webinar. They listened and learnt about traditional clothes of project cities. Later my students designed an original traditional clothes with all the schools. Every city was responsible for one piece. As Konya team, We were responsible for "woman's head design". My students Nisa and Rümeysa draw traditional head design. Here is their drawings.
After they had finished designing, we combine all the drawing with the help of thinglink and photoshop.
