May Activities (Recipe Book and Puzzle)

As teachers we get used to each other. We met in our webinars almost every week. Every week we discussed our activities. I think we are doing such a great team work!

Here is some photos from our teachers webinars.

Activity 1 Our Recipe Book

Even I could not believe my eyes that our students wrote a book !
Like all activities of our project this was an unforgetable memory for me... <3

Before beginning this activity we asked our students about their cities' famous cousines. They all wrote their opinions on twinspace forums. Then we began our activity.

This activity consists of two parts. First part is about writing recipes and second part is about designing cover pages.

In the first part every project school prepared recipes for soup, main course and dessert. So OUR RECIPE BOOK consists of three parts. Our students used Web02 tool 'Canva' for recipes. They also worked collaboratively with each other. My students put too much effort on it.
Süheyla prepared Arabaşı Soup (Konya Style) Recipe

Sena prepared Etliekmek Recipe

Şükriye prepared Höşmerim Recipe

Thank you so much my students
🙂
I am proud of you..
🙂

In the second part of this activity our students designed cover pages at the same time in the fixed webinars.

First of all please pay attention that this is such a perfect joint and collaborative activity. They worked with Canva for this acitvity too.

There were six pages which needed to be designed.
  • Group 1 : Front Cover Page and Soup Recipe Cover Page
  • Group 2 : Table of Content and Main Course Cover Page
  • Group 3 : Dessert Cover Page and End Cover Page

These 3 groups were responsibe for designing mentioned pages above. Therefore we decided to have a webinar with the students for this activity. Because designing is students' job
🙂

Each teacher chose three students; one for Group 1, one for Group 2 and one for Group 3 . Then we made 3 mixed students groups. So we have ten students from ten project schools for each groups. Clearly we have 3 groups and 3 webinars for this activity.

My students Hatice, Mert and Mikail joined this activity. Their groups were as below:
  • Group 1 : Hatice
  • Group 2 : Mert
  • Group 3 : Mikail

By the way all of them made a perfect job in this activity. Thank you so much my students. I am so lucky that you are all my students
🙂
As teachers we have just encouraged the students, make them to speak each other and gave instructions for designing. Then we watched them. So different teachers were responsible for different groups. Each teachers joined webinars with their groups.
For example I was responsible for Group 1. I joined webinar with Group 1 students. So I was with my student Hatice in this activity. But my students Mert and Mikail had webinars with other teachers. So we fixed the date and time.

3 Webinars 3 Mixed Student Groups

Webinar Date/Time
Group 1 : 11.05.2021 / 21:00
Group 2 : 12.05.2021 / 21:00
Group 3 : 11.05.2021 / 16:00

Here is responsible teachers for the groups and designed cover pages by students during the webinars

Activity 2  Puzzle !

We have fun in this activity...!! 🙂 We planned online puzzle game with teachers. Then every teacher chose one of their students. Zafer Ali Teacher sent below instructions to the students before the game.

GAME HELP

Moving a piece

Every piece can be caught and dropped by the left mouse button in two ways

Place the cursor over the piece, press and hold the left mouse button. Now you can move the piece arbitrarily but you still have to hold the left mouse button. Along with releasing the button you will drop the piece.

Or, place the cursor over the piece, click the left mouse button. You can move it again but it is not necessary to hold the left mouse button. This way is more suitable if you wish to move the piece for a longer time. The piece can be dropped by clicking the left mouse button again.

You can connect pieces together. The connection is accompanied with a sound. You can move together connected pieces as one piece.

Rotating a piece: It is possible to rotate pieces only if it was allowed by an author of the puzzle. To rotate a piece:

With a mouse: Place the cursor over the piece and Move the mouse wheel up (left rotation) or down (right rotation). Or, press the left (left rotation) or right (right rotation) arrow key. Note: this way is useful for one-button mouse owners (Apple). Or, press Ctrl + right mouse button to rotat left or press only the right mouse button to rotate right. Note: this way works only if the piece is dragging.

With touch: Tap on the piece and then tap on the appeared left or right rotation icon.

Working with more pieces together

Sometimes you need to work with more pieces. You need to make a selection of pieces:

  1. Place the cursor over an empty part of the desktop.
  2. Press the left mouse button and drag the mouse over the area with pieces you wish to select.
  3. Release the mouse button. The selected pieces turn red.

With these selected pieces you can move as with one pieces. If you wish to add / remove a piece to / from the selected pieces, press and hold the Ctrl key and click on the piece with the left mouse button. For canceling your choice click the left mouse button on an empty part of the desktop.

Arrange : Arranges pieces in free desktop space. It leaves already connected pieces on their places. As long as you do not use Disarrange, this command does not work with the pieces you have already moved.

Disarrange: Disarranges pieces in free desktop space. It leaves already connected pieces on their places.

Score: At the bottom part of the desktop there is information about the puzzle progress expressed in percents.

Game Saving: If you leave an unfinished puzzle, the application should automatically save your game. Next time you should find the game as you left it.

Note: Number and storing time of the saved games is limited if you are not signed in.

About: This application was created by Tibo Software. Tibo Software did not compile this game and is not liable for the content of the game.

With this instructions students understood the game better. They even precticed with a demo puzzle game by themselves.
